So, my husband has been on vacation last week, and we decide to get in the hot tub on Thursday night. It is late and the kids rarely come out after about 10 pm. Keep in mind that my kids are 16, 18, and 22. So, I get in naked, but my husband has his suit on. You know what is coming (not my husband). The 16 year old comes out, starts talking and says "ugh!" I start laughing. Fast forward to last night. I make it a point to yell upstairs that we are getting in the hot tub and ask if anyone wants to get in. Nobody says anything so I YELL, "ok then we are getting in naked then". Does it matter? Nope! My 18 year old comes out talking and I guess looked over the balcony and saw us. I just had to laugh again and tell my husband that I had given them fair warning this time. I asked her this morning about it and she said she didn't hear me......whatever!
Would I get in naked with other people? NO! Does my back feel better? Hell Yea!
It isn't the first time that my kids have been traumatized by us and I am sure it won't be the last.
While we will never receive the "Parent of the Year" award, hopefully, our kids will have a great sense of humor.

So, I
Over reacted. Big shock there! He said it was because the Cowboys lost. This kid takes these games way too seriously! Nothing like giving your mom a heart attack. Oh well, he is coming home tonight for the weekend, and I will have those condoms ready!

College Life!
So, it has finally happened.
I checked my facebook this morning to see what my son had posted. I certainly was not ready for what I saw. In essence it said he will have a massive hangover this morning and he is glad he only has one class today. OY! Keep in mind that he is 22 and I do believe that this is his first time, that I know of anyway. I have mixed emotions about this. One one hand, YAY! he is enjoying college life! And on the other, OMG, I hope it doesn't mess with his medicines and he has a seizure and chokes on his vomit.
You see, my oldest son has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. It pretty much kills me that he is 45 minutes away, and I can't be there in an instant. I hope his roommate will keep an eye on him. What is next sex? Reminder to self, get come condoms for him to take back when he comes home this weekend. Also, remind him, that if he is buying the beer, or whatever, the consequences for supplying to minors, and that he could get kicked out of the dorm. I can hear it now, "I know mom, I know mom".
This stuff, I would really expect from my 16 year old, because we have already been down that road with him. Little fucker!
So, for now, I sit tight and wait until he posts something again, and then I will know he is fine. I know I could call him, but then he would be all pissy with me.

Oh, My, Goodness!
I just finished reading the best book I have read in a long time. I have gone through so many Kleenex! The Crowning Glory of Calla Lilly Ponder, by Rebecca Wells. The story is set in La Luna, Louisiana. It is such a moving and spiritual story about love and love lost. Not too much sex in the book :( but it left alot to the imagination. I did NOT want this book to end!
It made me think about my life, and the loves I have lost, loved ones dying. Teach your kids about life, and let them figure out some things on their own. (This one is a hard one for me) Be there when they need to talk. (I think this pretty much applies to the girls, as my boys do not like to share much, just like my husband) You just never know what life will bring you. So live life to the fullest, and enjoy the slow times, the fun times, make new memories always, and don't lie to the people you love.
